G Line Multi-Use Path Improvements 

Overnight Work October 9 | New Detour Begins October 10 

Construction continues on the G Line Multi-Use Path as part of the Metro G Line Improvements Project. Work includes installing solar lighting, repaving and restriping to improve safety and mobility along the corridor.

Overnight Work – October 9

One night of overnight work is scheduled on the G Line Multi-Use Path between White Oak Av and Sepulveda Basin on Friday, October 9, from 4 PM to 6 AM.

Beginning October 10 through early November 2026, bicyclists traveling between White Oak Av and Sepulveda Basin will be detoured onto Oxnard St. Shared lane markings (“sharrows”) and temporary signs will guide bicyclists along the detour route. Motorists should expect to share the travel lane with bicyclists.

Existing Multi-Use Path Detours

Previously announced detours associated with ongoing Multi-Use Path improvements remain in effect:

• Canoga Av to Winnetka Av: The detour utilizes the LA River Greenway through November 2026.

• Winnetka Av to White Oak Av: Bicyclists and pedestrians are detoured onto a temporary access roadway adjacent to the G Line busway. Please follow posted detour signs.

Construction Timeline and Hours

Construction on the G Line Multi-Use Path is anticipated to continue through January 2027. 

Regular construction work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Overnight work is scheduled from 4 PM to 6 AM when required.

During Construction

• Please allow extra travel time when using the detour routes.

• Watch for construction vehicles and crews entering and exiting the work area.

• Follow all posted detour signs and directions from construction personnel.

• Pedestrian access will remain available through signed detour routes.

• Cyclists should reduce speed and use caution when traveling through detour areas.

Additional Information

• All work must receive necessary permits and approvals prior to work beginning.  

• Access to emergency responders will be maintained.  

• Access to driveways, residences & businesses will be maintained unless notified in advance.   

• Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage.  

• Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.  

• Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
