Colorado Bl and Los Robles Av: Station Construction


Summary:

The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is part of Metro’s plan for better transit. This project will connect North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock, and Pasadena through a new zero-emission BRT service that is faster, more reliable and operates like the best rail lines in the County.

Beginning in April 2026, crews began construction activities in Pasadena in preparation to build enhanced bus stations. This notice describes work activities progressing to the Colorado Bl/Los Robles Av intersection.

Location: Intersection of Colorado Bl and Colorado Robles Av

When: 
Anticipated to begin the week of August 17, 2026, for approximately 3 months.


Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am to 4pm. Closures remain in place 24/7 until complete.
 
Crews plan to begin on the southwest side of Colorado Bl/Los Robles Av (approx. 2 weeks)
  • Eastbound lane reductions on Colorado Bl between Euclid Av and Los Robles Av. At least one lane will be available.
  • Right turn from Colorado Bl onto southbound Los Robles Av prohibited.
  • Sidewalk closure on south side of Colorado Bl between Euclid Av and Los Robles Av. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.
  • Pedestrian access to businesses maintained.
  • Southbound lane reductions on Los Robles Av between Union St and Green St. At least one lane will be available.


 

Crews will then shift to the northwest corner of Colorado Bl/Los Robles Av (approx. 5 weeks).
  • Westbound and eastbound lane reductions on Colorado Bl between Garfield Av and Madison Av. At least one lane will be available.
  • Sidewalk and crosswalk closure at northwest corner of Colorado Bl and Los Robles Av. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.
    • Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained.
  • Right turns from Los Robles Av onto westbound Colorado Bl prohibited.
  • Southbound lane reductions on Los Robles Av between Union St and Colorado Bl. At least one lane will be available.



Crews will then shift to the northeast corner of Colorado Bl/Los Robles Av (approx. 2 weeks).
  • Westbound and eastbound lane reductions on Colorado Bl between Euclid Av and Madison Av. At least one lane will be avaliable.
  • ​​​​Right turns from Colorado Bl onto northbound Los Robles Av prohibited.
  • Northbound lane reductions on Los Robles Av between Green St and Union St. At least one lane will be available 
    • Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained.
  • Sidewalk and crosswalk closure on northeast corner of Colorado Bl and Los Robles Av. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.

Crews will then shift to the southeast side of Colorado Bl/Los Robles Av (approx. 5 weeks).
  • Westbound and eastbound lane reductions on Colorado Bl between Garfield Av and Oakland Av. At least one lane will be available.
  • Sidewalk and crosswalk closure at southeast corner. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.
    • Pedestrian access to businesses maintained.
  • Right turn from Los Robles Av onto eastbound Colorado Bl prohibited.
  • Northbound lane reductions on Los Robles Av between Green St and Colorado Bl. At least one lane will be available.


What to Expect:
  • All work has the necessary permits and approvals.
  • Work includes sidewalk demolition and restoration, asphalt pavingand lane striping. Noise, dust, and vibration are expected. Water-filled barriers and pedestrian fences will be placed for safety.
  • Signs and flaggers will direct traffic through open lanes. Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside construction zones. Detour signs will be posted.
  • Temporary parking restrictions will be posted in the immediate work area.
  • Access to driveways, residences, and businesses will be maintained unless notified in advance.
Noteworthy
  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
