Eagle Rock: Colorado Bl (Phase 2) - Utility Exploration

Summary: The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is part of Metro’s plan for better transit. This project will connect the cities of Los Angeles (North Hollywood and Eagle Rock communities), Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena through a new zero-emission BRT service while improving access to jobs, education, and other important destinations.  

In October 2025, crews began preliminary activities in Eagle Rock to prepare the roadway for construction. These activities included locating and identifying underground utilities. This notice describes additional work on Colorado Bl at Dahlia Dr. 

When: Anticipated to occur on Thursday, November 20, 2025, for one day only.

Locations:  

Colorado Bl 

• Eastbound lane reduction at the intersection of Dahlia Dr.  

Work Hours: 

• Thursday, from 8am to 4pm.  

What to Expect:  

• Potholing consists of boring a hole through the roadway or sidewalk to locate underground utilities. Once an underground utility is located, the hole is filled back in. Noise and minimal vibration are expected. 
• Signs and flaggers will direct traffic, cyclists, and pedestrians through open lanes, sidewalks, or crosswalks. 
• Cyclists and drivers will merge and share open lanes. 
• Work will not occur in each area simultaneously and lanes will reopen at the end of each workday.  
• Access to sidewalks, crosswalks, and businesses will be maintained. 

Noteworthy: 

• Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
