Hill Av and Green St: Construction Notice

The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is part of Metro’s plan for better transit. This project will connect North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock and Pasadena through a new zero-emission BRT service that is faster, more reliable, and operates like the best rail lines in the County.

In April 2026, construction began in Pasadena in preparation to build enhanced bus stations.

Location: Intersection of Hill Av and Green St

When: Anticipated to begin the week of June 22, 2026, for approximately three months.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm. Closures remain in place 24/7 until complete.

What To Expect: Crews plan to begin on the northwest and southwest corners of Hill/Green (approx. two weeks).

Eastbound lane reductions on Green St between Holliston Av and Hill Av. At least one lane will be available.
Southbound lane reductions on Hill Av between Colorado Bl and Cordova St. At least one lane will be available.
Sidewalk closed at the southwest corner. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.
Access to businesses will be maintained.

What To Expect: Crews will then shift to the east side of Hill Av (between Colorado Bl & Green St) (approx. four weeks).

Eastbound lane reductions on Green St between Holliston Av and Hill Av. At least one lane will be available.
North and southbound lane reductions on Hill Av between Colorado Bl and Cordrova St. At least one lane will be available.
Sidewalk closed on east side of Hill Av between Colorado Bl and Green St. Pedestrian detour signs will be placed.
The entrance to PCC Lot #1 from Hill Av will be temporarily closed for a short duration as construction progresses.

What to Expect: Crews will then perform traffic signal work at all corners of the Hill Av and Colorado Bl intersection (approx. one month).

Southbound and northbound lanes on Hill Av between Green St and Union St may be reduced.
Eastbound and westbound lanes on Colorado Bl between Holliston Av and Harkness Av may be reduced.
Sidewalk on southeast corner may be closed. Pedestrian signs will be placed.
Work will occur at one corner at a time, not all at once
Following signal work, crews will perform paving and striping, requiring temporary lane reductions.

What to Expect:

All work has or will receive permits and approvals.
Temporary parking restrictions will be posted in the immediate work area.
Work includes demolition of curb and sidewalk, and new concrete pours. Noise, dust, and vibration are expected. Water-filled and pedestrian barriers will be placed for safety.
Signs and flaggers will direct traffic through open lanes. Access for pedestrians will be available.
Access to driveways, residences, and businesses will be maintained unless notified in advance.
