Holly St/Arroyo Pw: Station Construction

Summary:

The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is part of Metro’s plan for better transit. This project will connect North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock and Pasadena through a new zero-emission BRT service that is faster and more reliable.

Beginning in April 2026, crews will begin construction activities in Pasadena in preparation to build enhanced bus stations.

Location: Intersection of Holly St and Arroyo Pw

When: Anticipated the week of April 20, 2026, for approximately two months.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm. Closures remain in place 24/7 until complete.

Traffic Control for Stage 1: Crews will begin within a work zone on the north side of Holly St. (approx. one month).

Holly St

Westbound Holly St closed between Arroyo Pw and Raymond Av.
Holly St will be accessible by using Arroyo Pw, Union St, and Raymond Av.
Travel lane shifts between Arroyo Pw and Marengo Av.
Access to Holly Street Village apartments will be maintained.
Follow Metro updates and posted signage for information regarding ADA ramp and Metro A-Line access.
Sidewalk closure on north side of Holly St between Arroyo Pw and Marengo Av.
Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained.
Pedestrians will be directed to opposite side of the street, and a temporary ramp will be available (refer to map below).
Arroyo Pw: Left turn from Arroyo Pw onto Holly St will be prohibited.

Traffic Control for Stage 2: Crews will then shift to a work zone on the south side of Holly St. (approx. one month). Map details below.

Westbound Holly St closed between Marengo Av and Raymond Av.
Access to Holly Street Village apartments will be maintained.
Westbound Holly St closed between Marengo Av and Raymond Av.
Detour will direct motorists to use Marengo Av or Arroyo Pw, Union St and Raymond Av to return back to Holly St.
Sidewalk closure on south side of Holly St between Arroyo Pw and Marengo Av. Pedestrian detour will be available
Access to the entrance Holly Street garage will be maintained. Exit will be available onto Union St.
Left turn from Arroyo Pw and Marengo Av onto Holly St will be prohibited.

What to Expect:

Following this work, crews will complete final repaving and striping at the intersection. This work may require a full closure. Additional details will be shared in a future notice.
All work has or will receive the necessary permits and approvals.
Work includes saw cutting, demolition of curb and sidewalk, and new concrete pours. Noise, dust, and vibration are expected. Water-filled and pedestrian barriers will be placed for safety.
Signs and flaggers will direct traffic through open lanes. Pedestrian access will be maintained outside construction zones. Pedestrian detour signs will be posted.
Temporary parking restrictions will be posted in the immediate work area
Access to driveways, residences, and businesses are maintained unless notified in advance.
