Calgrove Bl On- and Off-Ramp Closures

Summary

As part of the I-5 North County Enhancements Project, Metro’s contractor OHLA-USA will be completing construction activities that require intermittent closures of southbound Calgrove Bl on- and off-ramps. Activities will include backfill work, retaining wall construction, striping, drainage, and electrical work.

At the completion of the project, freeway enhancements are expected to improve traffic flow, augment safety, reduce congestion, and make commuting smoother.

What to Expect & Traffic Control

Prepare for intermittent closures of the southbound Calgrove Bl on- and off-ramps through Summer 2026.
 
Detour 1 (EB): Traveling eastbound on Calgrove Bl, continue onto northbound I-5 and exit at Lyons Ave, turn left on Lyons Ave, continue onto southbound I-5.
Detour 2 (WB): Traveling westbound on Calgrove Bl; turn left on The Old Rd; continue south on San Fernando Rd, turn right on Sepulveda Bl onto southbound I-5.

Essential Details 

  • Work hours: Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm and 7pm to 6am, and Saturdays starting at 8pm to Sunday at 5pm, as needed.
  • Day work and night work behind k-rail.
  • The speed limit within the construction zone on The Old Rd, Calgrove Bl, and Wiley Canyon Rd is 45-miles per hour.

Access to emergency responders will be maintained. Construction is a dynamic process, it is subject to weather conditions, and information is subject to change, visit the project website for the most up to date information and a weekly listing of ramp closures scheduled.
