Directional Closure – Northbound Orange Grove Av

Summary  

Through August 1, 2024, northbound Orange Grove Av will be closed from Wilshire Bl to approximately 200 feet south of Wilshire Bl. The closure will support construction of the future Fairfax Station entrance. Southbound traffic from Wilshire Bl to 8th St will be maintained.

Traffic Control  

  • Northbound Orange Grove Av will be closed from Wilshire Bl to approximately 200 feet south of Wilshire Bl.  

  • Left turns from westbound Wilshire Bl to southbound Orange Grove Av will be allowed.  

  • Northbound traffic on Orange Grove Av will be detoured to 8th St > northbound Fairfax Av > eastbound Wilshire Bl  

Access  

Access for emergency vehicles and first responders will be maintained.  

Noteworthy   

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.  

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of the construction zone.  

  • Access for emergency responders will be maintained.

Persons Experiencing Homelessness   

Metro Construction Relations staff will notify and coordinate with the appropriate Los Angeles City Council District when a person experiencing homelessness is identified on City property (e.g., streets and sidewalks) near a Metro construction site. Below is an example of the language provided:
