Important Update: Upcoming Soundwall Removal

In August, Metro will begin removing and replacing the soundwall along the eastbound 91 Freeway from Atlantic Av to Myrtle Av, as part of a highway safety project designed to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities in this area. The removal is expected to take approximately four months and will be done in sections. Removal will take place during daytime and nighttime hours, with continuous monitoring of noise and vibration.

The new, modernized soundwall will be two feet higher and built with upgraded features to maximize neighborhood safety and reduce noise. Metro will remove the existing soundwall first and then build a new soundwall that is 14 feet high. This will reduce noise levels by up to seven decibels. The new wall will have a decorative finish.
