Retaining Wall/Roadway Pavement ConstructionSummary:Metro has a plan to ease traffic and enhance safety on the I-105, which includes the conversion of the existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane, or carpool lane, into two Metro ExpressLanes in each direction on the I-105. Major construction for the first phase of the project, Segment 1 between Sepulveda Bl and Central Av, started in early 2025 and is anticipated to continue for approximately three years.
As part of these improvements, work crews will construct several retaining walls and perform roadway pavement construction on the right-hand shoulder of the freeway at various locations along the corridor in Segment 1. These work activities are being performed to accommodate the new ExpressLanes and the improvements provided by the project.
Location: Westbound (WB) and Eastbound (EB) I-105 between Crenshaw Bl and Normandie Ave
