Soil Sampling and Testing: July 28 to December 2025

Summary

Metro’s contractor will perform soil sampling and testing to better understand ground conditions along the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 project. These activities will require nighttime work in certain areas and bus stop relocations, please follow the signage posted along the work areas. 

Date and Work Hours (weather permitting)  

  • Monday to Friday starting July 28th to December 2025 
  • East LA from 7am to 3:30pm, City of Montebello from 9am to 3:30pm, and City of Commerce from 9pm to 6am  

Locations  

  • East LA: Atlantic Bl, Beverly Bl, Repetto St, Woods Av and 4th St 
  • City of Commerce: Washington Bl, thru Saybrook Av and Garfield Av and Along Smithway St, thru Flotilla St and Tubeway Av 
  • City of Montebello: Washington Bl, through Yates Av and Vail Av   

What to Expect 

  • Temporary impacts to LA Metro bus lines 106, 260 and 261.  Please follow the signs for details on the relocated stops. 
  • Line 106 Eastbound and Westbound along E 3rd St/Pomona Bl, from S La Verne Av to Atlantic Bl.   
  • Line 260 and 261 Northbound and Southbound along S Atlantic Bl, from E Pomona Bl to E Olympic Bl.  
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained with temporary rerouting in certain areas. 
  • Short-term traffic impacts due to lane reductions and temporary closure of side streets.  
  • Parking restrictions in posted areas; please follow the signage. 

Noteworthy  

  • All work has received the necessary permits and approvals.  
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance.  
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction.  
  • Construction is a dynamic process, and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.  
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts on the community.  
  • The road will be reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours.  
  • Detours will be provided as necessary.
