Fulton Av between Hillview Park Av and Cumpston St: Subsurface Investigation

On behalf of Metro’s G Line (Orange) Improvements Project, Metro’s contractor, VTP will conduct pothole investigations work for the G Line Improvements Project. The activities will be performed along Fulton Av and Burbank Bl. The purpose of the potholing work is to verify and discover the location of existing utilities within the project alignment.  On-street parking near the work area will be restricted. Please read the street parking signs.

Date and Work Hours: August 12, 2023, through the late summer, 2023, 9am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm, Saturdays

Duration: Approximately two days of work. 
Location: Work will occur at different locations along Fulton Av between Hillview Park Av and Cumpston St.

What to Expect:  Intermittent noise is expected due to saw cutting or jackhammering the ground. Large trucks, tools, equipment, and materials will be used for this work. Areas excavated will be restored at the end of each shift.

Traffic Control will be implemented in stages:
Southbound Fulton Av Traffic
There will be a full directional street closure of southbound Fulton Av from Burbank Bl to before Cumpston St. Traffic will be limited to right turns at Burbank Bl. Vehicles cannot proceed south on Fulton Av past Burbank Bl. 
Northbound Fulton Av will remain open. The left-turn pocket at the intersection of Fulton Av and Burbank Bl will be closed.
The south leg crosswalk will be closed during construction. Three other crosswalks will remain open. 
One lane will remain accessible on southbound Fulton Av from Hillview Park Av to Burbank Bl.

Northbound Fulton Av Traffic
Northbound Fulton Av lanes will be reduced up to Burbank Bl. Vehicles will be able to turn right at Burbank Av but must proceed with caution. 
A crosswalk near the busway will remain accessible with a flagger. Three other crosswalks will remain open for public accessibility.

Local access, Pedestrian Access, and Emergency Responder Access is maintained during work activities.
