Full Directional Freeway Closures: I-105 (I-405 through I-110) Please plan ahead or adjust your travel if necessary. Metro has a plan to ease traffic and enhance safety on the I-105, which includes the conversion of the existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane, or carpool lane, into two Metro ExpressLanes in each direction on the I-105. Major construction for the first phase of the project, Segment 1 between Sepulveda Bl and Central Av, started in early 2025 and is anticipated to be completed in year 2028.
Work crews are anticipated to perform directional full freeway closures on eastbound I-105 over three nights, beginning Friday, September 11, between I-405 and I-110. These freeway closures are required to facilitate freeway restriping on the I-105 to support the next phase of the project and construction of the tolling system for the new ExpressLanes.
