I-105 ExpressLanes Project

Weekend Extended Lane Closures

Please plan ahead or adjust your travel if necessary.

The I-105 ExpressLanes Project will implement a series of weekend extended freeway lane closures in one direction of travel on an intermittent basis from spring 2026 – early 2027.  The closure of the two center inside lanes, consisting of the HOV lane and the #1 lane, is necessary to support overhead sign structure installations.

The next series of extended lane closures are anticipated on the following weekend dates:

August 1– 2, 2026

What to Expect 

Eastbound I-105: Friday, July 31, at 8pm through Sunday, August 2, at 10am.

Lane closures from the I-405 to Prairie Av
The remaining travel lanes will stay open
During this operation, a Metro C Line bus bridge will be in place between the Crenshaw Station to the LAX/Metro Transit Center from Friday at 8pm through Sunday at 2am

Westbound I-105: Sunday, August 2, at 4am through Monday, August 3, at 5am

Lane closures from State St to Wilmington Av
Closure of the westbound Imperial Hwy/Wilmington Av on-ramp
The remaining travel lanes will stay open
During this operation, a Metro C Line bus bridge will be in place between from the Lynwood Station to the Harbor Station at 4am through Monday at 2am

Please note that construction is dynamic and work schedules are subject to change based on the progress of work and weather conditions. Traffic control measures and advance signage will be in place to safely guide motorists through the work area.
