Summary: The North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is part of Metro’s plan for better transit. This project will connect the cities of Los Angeles (North Hollywood and Eagle Rock communities), Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena through a new zero-emission BRT service while improving access to jobs, education, and other important destinations.

Beginning in July 2025, crews will begin preliminary activities in Pasadena to prepare the roadway for construction. These activities will include locating and identifying underground utilities. This notice describes the work at the Hill Av and Green St intersection.

When: Anticipated to begin the week of July 14, 2025, for approximately three weeks.

Locations:
  • Hill Av
    • Lanes on Hill Av reduced in both directions between Colorado Bl and Green St
    • Reduced left turn lane into Pasadena City College. Access to college will be maintained
    • Northbound lane reduction near Green St. Access to parking lots at Pasadena City College maintained
  • Green St
    • Right turn lane reduced onto Hill Av. Right turns will be maintained
    • Left turn lane reduced onto Hill Av. Left turns will be maintained
  • Pasadena City College
    • The dedicated left turn lane onto Hill Av will be reduced. Access to Hill Av will be maintained

Work Hours:
  • Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm
What to Expect:
  • Potholing consists of boring a hole through the roadway or sidewalk to locate underground utilities.
  • Once an underground utility is located, the hole is filled back in. Noise and minimal vibration are expected.
  • Signs and flaggers will direct traffic and pedestrians through open lanes, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
  • One lane will be open to traffic at all times. Work will not occur in each area simultaneously and lanes will reopen at the end of each workday.
  • Access to sidewalks, crosswalks, driveways, and businesses will be maintained.
  • Temporary parking restrictions will be posted in the immediate work area.

Noteworthy:
  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
