Northbound Truck Route Construction

Summary 

As part of the I-5 North County Enhancements Project, Metro’s contractor OHLA USA, will modify freeway lane striping and concrete barriers to support construction activity throughout the project corridor. This work includes removal of existing striping, placement of new striping, surveying, paving, and adjusting concrete barriers. 

At the completion of construction, improvements are expected to enhance traffic flow and safety, reduce congestion, and make commuting smoother.

What to Expect & Traffic Control 

Nightly closures of the northbound I-5 truck route between SR-14 and Calgrove Bl from 11pm to 5am through June 2026. 

• Detour: All traffic to continue onto northbound I-5 

Essential Details 

• Work hours: Thursday between 11pm and 5am. Crews will begin to mobilize at 7pm. 

• Expect speed limit reduction within the construction zone
