SB I-5 Traffic Shift and Ramp Closures, Parker Rd to Valencia Bl

Summary 

As part of the I-5 North County Enhancements Project, Metro’s contractor OHLA USA, will maintain and modify freeway lane striping and k-rail (concrete barriers) to support construction activity throughout the project corridor. This work will include removal of existing striping, placement of new striping, and adjustments of concrete barriers. 

What to Expect/Traffic Control 

Nightly lane reductions of southbound I-5, and intermittent closures of southbound on- and off-ramps and connectors between Hasley Canyon Rd and Valencia Bl beginning Monday, September 16, 2024 through Friday, November 1, 2024 from 7pm to 6am. 

Impacted Ramps: 

• Hasley Canyon Rd/Sedona Wy on-ramp
• Hasley Canyon Rd/The Old Rd on-ramp 
• Magic Mountain Pkwy on-ramp 
• Rye Canyon Rd on-ramp 

Impacted Connectors: 

• EB SR-126 to SB I-5 
• WB SR-126 to SB I-5 
• EB SR-126 to NB I-5 
• WB SR-126 to NB I-5

Schedule and Detours 

Essential Details 

• Consecutive ramps in the same direction will not be closed at the same time. Detours to the next on-ramp will be posted for each closure.  
• Traffic will be maintained in each direction.   
• No lane closures will be implemented during morning or evening peak traffic hours.  
• The speed limit within construction work zones is changed to 55-miles per hour.
