Utility Investigation: November 17, 2025 - December 2025 

Summary  

Metro’s contractor, C Below, Inc., will be conducting underground utility investigations along the project alignment in the Cities of Vernon, Huntington Park and Bell in preparation for future engineering design of the Southeast Gateway Line. The work will include an excavation process to locate underground utility lines. 

Work Hours, Dates and Locations (weather permitting, excluding holidays) 

• Work Hours:
  • Cities of Huntington Park and Bell: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday 
  • City of Vernon: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday 

• Schedule: As early as November 19, 2025 through December 2025

What to Expect 

• Short-term traffic impacts. 

• Lane reductions or closures on streets during work hours. Lanes will be restored daily upon work completion. 

• Signage will be posted to guide vehicles around work zones. 

• Equipment in the street, excavations, and surface conditions will be restored (e.g., patching roads and pavement) after drilling is completed.  

Noteworthy 

• All work has received necessary permits and approvals. 

• Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction. 

• Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses, will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 

• Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
