Utility Field Investigations

Summary
Metro’s contractor, C Below, Inc., will be conducting underground utility investigations along the project alignment in the City of Huntington Park, Cudahy and South Gate in preparation for future engineering design of the Southeast Gateway Line. The work will include an excavation process to locate underground utility lines.                                                                                                      

Date and Work Hours

• Work is anticipated to begin Thursday, April 30 to Friday, May 29, 2026.
• Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (weather permitting, excluding holidays).
• Intermittent weekend work and night work may be necessary.

• Lane reductions or closures on streets during work hours. Lanes will be restored daily upon work completion.
• Signage will be posted to guide vehicles around work zones.
• Equipment in the street, excavations, and surface conditions will be restored after drilling is completed.

• All work has received necessary permits and approvals. 
• Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction. 
• Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses, will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 
• Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
