Utility Field Investigations

Summary
Metro’s contractor, C Below, Inc., will be conducting underground utility investigations along the project alignment in the Unincorporated LA County, City of Vernon, City of Huntington Park, City of Bell, City of Cudahy, City of Downey, City of South Gate and City of Paramount in preparation for future engineering design of the Southeast Gateway Line. The work will include an excavation process to locate underground utility lines.
                         
Schedule (weather permitting, excluding holidays)

  • Ongoing through August 31, 2026
  • Work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
  • Intermittent weekend work and night work may be necessary.

What to Expect
  • Lane reductions or closures on streets during work hours. Lanes will be restored daily upon work completion.
  • Signage will be posted to guide vehicles around work zones.
  • Equipment in the street, excavations, and surface conditions will be restored after drilling is completed.
Noteworthy
  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals. 
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction. 
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses, will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
