Utility Investigation: Through February 2026 in East LA and Montebello 


Summary

Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 Project contractors will conduct utility work activities this week. Utility investigations are required prior to major construction, anticipated in 2029. Excavation of small test holes will help locate underground utility lines along the project route in East LA and the City of Montebello. 

Dates and Work Hours: (Weather Permitting)

  • Weekdays, starting February 10 until the end of the month  
    • East LA from 7am to 5pm 
    • City of Montebello from 9am to 3:30pm

Location

  • East LA: Pomona Bl & Atlantic Bl and Washington Bl & Maple Av
  • City of Montebello: Washington Bl and Greenwood Av  

What to Expect

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained, but there may be temporary rerouting in certain areas.
  • Crew workers will help direct traffic at various locations
  • Streets and sidewalks will be repaved after the work is complete 
  • Temporary restricted parking in posted areas 
  • Temporary traffic impacts around lane reductions and side street closures 

Noteworthy

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses, will always be maintained unless notified in advance.
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction.
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts to the community.
  • The road will be reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours.
  • Detours will be provided as necessary. 
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
