Near Term Bus Lanes

Summary:
Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) will convert peak hour tow away traffic lanes into bus priority lanes on Vermont Av between Sunset Bl and Wilshire Bl. Removal of existing striping by grinding will be required. New striping will be installed in phases.

When
May begin as early as March 2025 with anticipated completion in six months.

Work Hours
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm; 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
  • Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Traffic Control
Temporary parking restrictions will be enforced on a block-by-block basis.

Temporary signage will offer detour information for
pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

Parking changes for new bus lanes
The existing 4-7 PM peak weekday parking restrictions on Vermont, between Sunset and Wilshire will be changed to 3-7 PM. Areas of Vermont, between Sunset and Wilshire that have existing 7-9 AM weekday parking restrictions will be changed to 7-10 AM, and areas that don’t have existing AM parking restrictions will have them added between 7-10 AM weekdays.

Noteworthy
  • Access to driveways, residences, and businesses will be maintained unless notified in advance.
  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules are subject to change.
