Denker Av Intersection Improvement Work

Summary

The contractor is preparing to demolish and reconstruct the intersection of Denker Av and Slauson Av as part of the Rail-to-Rail Active Transportation Corridor (ATC) Project. Work is estimated to begin as early as June 22, 2024. 

What: 

The contractor will begin improvements to the street, sidewalk, crosswalk, traffic signals, and streetlights at the intersections adjacent to the new pedestrian and bike path.  

Where:

>    At the intersection of Denker and Slauson Av.  

When:  

>    Beginning as early as June 22, 2024, for approximately five months.
>    Monday to Saturday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
>    Night work as needed, weather permitting

What to Expect:

Street closures will be in place 24/7 for approximately five months; the closures will be implemented in three consecutive stages.  

>    Stage 1A: directional closure of northbound Denker Av. from Slauson Av to 58th St
>    Stage 1B: directional closure of southbound Denker Av. From Slauson Av to 58th St
>    Stage 2: full closure of southside Denker Av. from Slauson Av to 57th Pl
>    Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.
>    Construction night work, if needed, will be minimized and will be within allowable noise levels.

Noteworthy: 

>    All work will receive necessary permits and approvals from the City of Los Angeles prior to the start of work.
>    Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
>    Pedestrian access will be maintained outside the work area. 
>    Access to business/residential driveways within the work zone will be maintained.
>    Construction is a dynamic process, and information is subject to change as the conditions warrant.
