Figueroa Intersection Improvement

The contractor is preparing to demolish and reconstruct the intersection of Figueroa St. and Slauson Av. as part of the Rail-to-Rail Active Transportation Corridor (ATC) Project. The intersection will be restored on October 18, 2024. 

What:  The contractor will remove old rail tracks, dig, repave the street, replace sidewalks, perform storm drain improvements, and install streetlights.


Where: At the intersection of Figueroa St and Slauson Av.

When:  
  • On Octobery 18, 2024, the intersection will be restored
  • Monday to Saturday, 24/7, Night work as needed. Weather permitting.  

What to Expect 

Lane closures at Figueroa St. and Slauson Av. Closures will be in place for approximately five months; the closures will be implemented in two stages.

  • Stage 1: Southbound and northbound center lane closure on Figueroa St., from 57th St to Slauson Av. and lane reduction on westbound Slauson Av.
  • Stage 2A: Southbound and northbound outside lane closure on Figueroa St., from Slauson Av. to 58th St. and lane reductions on westbound and eastbound Slauson Av.
  • Stage 2B: Southbound and northbound outside lane closure on Figueroa St., from Slauson Av. to 59th St. and lane reductions on westbound and eastbound Slauson Av.
Noteworthy  
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts. 
  • Construction night work, if needed, will be minimized and will be within allowable noise levels. 
  • All work will receive necessary permits and approvals from the City of Los Angeles before starting work. 
  • Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained. 
  • Access to pedestrians will be maintained outside of the work area.  
  • Access to business/residential driveways within the work zone will be maintained. 
  • Dates, times, and duration of activities are subject to change.
