Geotechnical Field Exploration: June 9 – July 2025

Summary

Metro's contractor will be conducting exploratory soil investigations, environmental testing, and utility surveys to evaluate subsurface conditions in preparation for future engineering design of the Southeast Gateway Line.                                                                     

Date and Work Hours (weather permitting)

  • Monday, June 9, 2025 through July 2025
  • Work hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm along Somerset Ranch Rd (North and South), and from 8 pm to 5 am and 9 am to 3pm along the I-105 freeway.

Locations 

The works will be performed along Somerset Ranch Rd (North and South), City of Paramount and on a section of the I-105 freeway near Facade Av.

What to Expect

  • Equipment in the street, excavations, and repaving of roadway.
  • Short-term traffic impacts due to lane reductions on freeway and side streets along Somerset Ranch Rd. 
  • There will be no impact on pedestrian access along Somerset Ranch Rd. 

Noteworthy 

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and business will always be maintained unless notified in advance.
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained during construction. 
  • Construction is a dynamic process, and work schedules and timelines are subject to change. 
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in a place to minimize impacts on the community. 
  • The road will be reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours. 
  • Detours will be provided as necessary.
