Normandie Av Mid- Intersection Improvement Work

Summary:

The contractor continues to work on the reconstruct of the intersection of Normandie Av. and Slauson Av. as part of the Rail-to-Rail Active Transportation Corridor (ATC) Project. Work is estimated to be completed by the weekend of June 22, 2024. 

Rail to Rail ATC Project brings improvements that better enable residents to bike or walk along the corridor, with improved access to transit stations. 
 

What: 

The contractor will begin improvements to the street, sidewalk, crosswalk, traffic signals, and streetlights at the intersections adjacent to the new pedestrian and bike path.  
 

Where:

>    At the intersection of Normandie Av and Slauson Av.

When:  

>    Beginning as early as February 3, 2024, for approximately four months
>    Monday to Saturday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
>    Night work as needed, weather permitting

What to Expect

>    Directional street closures will be in place 24/7 for approximately four and a half months; the closures will be implemented in three consecutive stages.  
>    Stage 1: Directional closure of northbound Normandie Av from Slauson Av to 58th St.  
>    Stage 2: Directional closure of northbound Normandie Av from just north of the Normandie Av and 58th Pl intersection to approximately halfway through the intersection of Normandie Av and Slauson Av and from the northeast corner of Slauson Av to just south of Normandie Av and 58th St intersection. 
>    Stage 3: D
irectional closure of southbound Normandie Av between 58th St and the alley just south of the Slauson Av and Normandie Av intersection.  
>    Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.
>    Construction night work, if needed, will be minimized and within allowable noise levels. 

Noteworthy 

>    All work will receive necessary permits and approvals from the City of Los Angeles prior to the start of work.
>    Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
>    Pedestrian access will be maintained outside the work area. 
>    Access to business/residential driveways within the work zone will be maintained.
>    Construction is a dynamic process, and dates, times, duration of activities are subject to change.
