Beverly Drive Station Monthly Look-Ahead: July 2025

This monthly notification is an outline of construction activities for the month of July 2025. Additional notices detailing these activities will be sent by Metro’s project team. To be added to the Purple (D) Line stakeholder list for weekly updates, please email: purplelineext@metro.net.  

Ongoing Station Construction 

Krail enclosures will remain in place along the north and south curb lanes to support ongoing station construction and facilitate appendage construction during the month of July.  

Two lanes will be maintained along Wilshire Bl between Beverly Dr and Crescent Dr. Left turns will be restricted from westbound Wilshire Bl to S Canon Dr. 

Work Hours: 

• On-street work will be conducted behind the Krail Monday through Friday from 8AM to 9PM and 8:15PM to 7AM. 

• From 9AM to 4PM, S Reeves Dr may have one through lane with flaggers to facilitate traffic flow. 

• Between 9AM to 4PM S Beverly Dr could also be reduced to one lane in each direction. 

• From 8:15PM to 7AM, Wilshire Bl may be reduced to one lane in each direction for ongoing station construction and material delivery. S Beverly Dr may also be reduced to one lane in each direction during this time. 

Concrete Placement Activity  

• Underground concrete placement for tunnel construction will continue to be taking place at night and at Cross Passage 27. This work is anticipated to take place through the month of July.  

Wilshire Bl, N Canon to Crescent Dr, Appendage Construction Activity  

• Backfill & concrete placement activities continue to construct the appendage structures.  

• This work requires restricted sidewalk access on the N side of Wilshire from N Canon Dr to Crescent Dr. This work activity will continue during the month of July. Work hours are 6AM to 6PM.  

• Pedestrian detours are in place to route pedestrians to the S side of Wilshire Bl using the crosswalks at N Canon Dr and Crescent Dr.  

Wilshire Bl, N Beverly Dr to N Canon Dr, Appendage Construction Activity  

• The contractor will continue excavation activities & begin concrete placements activities for the future station appendage construction for the future station appendage construction. Work continues during July. Work hours are 6AM to 6PM. 

• The westbound Wilshire Bl curb lane will be restricted during work activity at night. 

• The north sidewalk on Wilshire Bl will be restricted in phases with pedestrian detours and access provided during the work activity.  

• Access to the alleyway between N. Beverly Dr and N Canon Dr may be restricted during work activity.  

Wilshire Bl, N Beverly Dr to El Camino Dr, Appendage Construction Activity  

• The contractor will continue implementing closures on the north Wilshire Bl sidewalk between Beverly Dr & El Camino Dr to progress with potholing and piling for future appendage structures.  

• The north sidewalk on Wilshire Bl between El Camino Dr and N Beverly Dr will be restricted in phases with pedestrian detours and access provided during the work activity.  

• The west sidewalk on N Beverly Dr at Wilshire Bl will be restricted in phases with pedestrian detours and access provided during the work activity. 

Permanent Utility Installation Update 

• Work began in June at the south end of the alleyway between Beverly Dr and Crescent Dr. It is currently on hold and when this work progresses, we will provide updates to stakeholders.  

S Reeves Soundwall Removal  

• The contractor will be removing the temporary 20 foot tall soundwall and will be replaced with a standard 8 foot tall fence to support the construction of the future stations entrance. Work hours are from 8AM to 9PM.  

Water Mainline Tie-in  

• The contractor will begin the final tie-ins of the new waterline starting July 11th through July 25th. The tie-ins are performed at night, during off-peak hours to minimize potential impact to stakeholders.  

• The waterline tie-ins are planned to take place in phases over a series of night shifts between 9PM to 7AM. Each tie-in phase is anticipated to be completed in a single shift.  

• Impacted stakeholders will receive advance notice with details on the water shutdown, including date, time, and duration. Additional coordination will occur beforehand to minimize potential conflicts.  

N Canon Wall Extension Request 

• Metro has requested to extend the removal of the N Canon Dr sound wall beyond September 2025 to March 2026 to align with the completion of major construction at Beverly Dr Station due to ongoing tunnel work staging needs and upcoming streetscape construction limiting yard access.  

• The City is currently reviewing this request, and additional updates with City Council meeting date will be provided once they are available.
