The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line (Orange) Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY

Metro’s contractor will perform abatement and demolition of buildings for the proposed Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) for the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project. This work will include the demolition and removal of the structures in the Map Exhibit below, including requiring construction vehicles and equipment to access the property to remove the roof, walls, floors, and any miscellaneous items found in the properties. Work to be performed will include traffic control (if necessary), abatement services, building demolition, fence installation, and soil compaction. Work will be performed on Monday through Friday, 6am to 4pm. The duration of the demolition and abatement work is anticipated to be approximately eleven (11) months.

March 2, 2026, to February 2027  
6am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Demolition activities during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. 
  • Flaggers will be provided at various locations to direct traffic (if necessary). 
  • Equipment in the street, pavement restoration, and traffic control set up may be necessary on Keswick St and Raymer St. 
  • Parking may be restricted in posted areas. Please follow the signage with the restrictions and avoid possible citations or towing. 
  • Equipment to be utilized: Excavator, Skid Steer, Forklift, Scissor Lift, Flatbed trucks, Drum Roller, Compactor, Dump Truck, and traffic control vehicles.   
NOTEWORTHY
 
  • Keswick St and Raymer St will remain open during demolition work. 
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained. 
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change. 
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.
