Project Website | Active Work Notices
The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY

Metro’s contractor, San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC), will conduct utility installation work on Van Nuys Bl, between Telfair Av and San Fernando Rd. Lane restrictions will be in place along Van Nuys Bl. The street will remain open to traffic in both directions, with some turn restrictions in effect during construction. The bike lane will be closed intermittently, and certain driveways and crosswalks will be temporarily closed while work is underway.

This work will include the installation of new waterlines and construction activities will involve traffic control implementation, potholing, excavation, trenching, shoring and backfill, and roadway restoration. Additionally, K-rail concrete barriers will be installed at a later date as part of utility work activities, and this will affect on-street parking and the street configuration.
