The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line (Orange) Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd. 

SUMMARY

San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC) is performing utility investigations along the project alignment on Van Nuys Bl from Oxnard St to San Fernando Rd. Work includes traffic control, potholing operations, and street restoration activities.

Van Nuys Bl between Vesper St and San Fernando Rd 

Monday, December 15, 2025, through Summer 2027, from 8pm to 6am, Monday through Saturday.


Van Nuys Bl between Oxnard St and Covello St 

Monday, January 19, 2026, through late-Winter 2026, from 8pm to 6am, Monday through Saturday 


Van Nuys Bl between Laurel Canyon Bl and Arleta St

Friday, March 27, 2026, through April 27, 2026. from 9am to 3:30pm and 8pm to 6am, Monday to Friday, and Saturdays from 6am to 8pm and 8pm to 6am.


LOCATION

Van Nuys Bl between Oxnard St to San Fernando Rd.  

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Van Nuys Bl will remain open with lane restrictions. 
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 
  • The road will be fully reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours. 
  • Flaggers will be provided at various locations to direct traffic and pedestrians if access is restricted. Sidewalks may be impacted during the work activities, please follow the signage or direction from the construction crews.
  • Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage. 
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as necessary, please follow the signage.
NOTEWORTHY
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained. 
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change. 
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.
