The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to Van Nuys Bl and San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY
As part of the advanced construction work for the ESFV LRT Project, Metro’s contractor, San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC) will perform utility installations including potholing along the project alignment. This work will include areas of excavations that require traffic lane closures from Oxnard St to Valerio St, Vesper Ave to San Fernando Rd, and Covello St to Novice St. Work to be performed will include traffic control, utility operations, and street restoration. 

            
DATE AND WORK HOURS
Monday, September 30, 2024 through Summer 2025. Work will take place from 9:00am to 3:30pm and 8:00pm to 6:00am (Mon-Fri). Weather permitting. 


LOCATION
Van Nuys Bl from Oxnard St to San Fernando Rd.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 
  • The road will be fully reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours. 
  • Traffic Control will be provided at various locations to direct traffic and pedestrians if access is restricted.  
  • Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage. 
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as necessary, please follow the signage.
