The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line (Orange) Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd. 

SUMMARY

Metro’s contractor, San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC), will perform utility installation work on Saticoy St, just west of Van Nuys Bl. This work will require a full closure of Saticoy St, and a detour will be in place during work hours. Activities will include the traffic control implementation, installing duct banks and vaults, trench excavation, shoring and backfilling, and concrete and paving work. 

DATE AND WORK HOURS

Beginning February 09, 2026, through early Spring 2026. Night work will take place Monday through Friday from 8pm to 6am, with occasional Saturday daytime work from 6am to 6pm, weather permitting.

On Saticoy St, just west of Van Nuys Bl. See graphics for the work area and detour on last page.  



WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Saticoy St, just west of Van Nuys Bl, will be fully closed. The street will be fully reopened daily to vehicular traffic after each work shift. 
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance.  
  • Flaggers will be provided to help direct traffic and pedestrians for safe access as needed.  
  • Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage.  
  • Bus stops will be temporarily relocated, please follow the signage.  
NOTEWORTHY
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change. 
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impact
