Sherman Wy and Van Nuys Bl Intersection Full Directional Closures: Gas Relocation

SUMMARY

In support of the ESFV LRT Project, the Southern California Gas Company will relocate a gas line along the intersection of Sherman Wy and Van Nuys Bl, which will require full directional closures and lane restrictions. There will be full directional closures for Northbound Van Nuys Bl and westbound Sherman Wy traffic. There will be three phases of traffic control for this work activity. Work activities will include potholing, saw cutting, trenching and excavation operations, relocation of a gas line, and street restoration.

DATE AND WORK HOURS

On Monday, October 20, 2025, for a duration of approximately five (5) weeks. Work hours are from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on weekdays.

LOCATION

Intersection of Sherman Wy and Van Nuys Bl.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Phase 1: Northbound Van Nuys Bl will be fully closed in one direction, and vehicles will be required to make left or right turns at the intersection with Sherman Wy. Traffic lanes will be reduced along Sherman Wy between Kester St and near Tyrone St.There will be restrictions on left and right turn pockets for northbound Van Nuys Bl. Southbound Van Nuys Bl will be restricted to one lane from near Valerio St to Vose St.
Phase 2: Southbound Van Nuys Bl at the intersection with Sherman Wy will be restricted to one lane for through or left turns only. No right turns will be available during work at the intersection. Vehicles traveling northbound on Van Nuys Bl using left turns will be restricted at the intersection with Sherman Wy. Traffic lanes will be reduced along Sherman Wy between Kester St and Tyrone St, and Van Nuy Bl between Wyandotte St and Gault St.
Phase 3: Sherman Wy at the intersection with Van Nuys Bl will be closed for westbound traffic from near Tyrone St to Kester St and restricted to making left turns only. Traffic will be detoured to southbound Van Nuys Bl to Vanowen St, and onto Kester St. Traffic lanes on Van Nuys Bl will be restricted from before Wyandotte St to Gault St, with left and right turn pockets also restricted at the intersection.
Flaggers will be provided at various locations to direct traffic and pedestrians, if access is restricted.
Parking is restricted in posted areas. Please follow the signage posted with restrictions.
Bus stops will be temporarily relocated as necessary. Please follow the signage.

NOTEWORTHY

No driveways will be closed during work activities.
Access to emergency responders will be maintained.
