The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd. 

SUMMARY

As part of the ESFV LRT Project, the Southern California Gas Company will relocate a gas line at the intersection of Van Nuys Bl and Wyandotte St. Work will be completed in phases with various traffic control configurations in place. Van Nuys Bl will remain open to vehicular traffic at all times with at least one lane in each direction, with left-turn restrictions in place. Wyandotte St will have intermittent closures, just west of Van Nuys Bl. Work activities will include saw cutting, trenching, minor excavation, gas line relocation, and street restoration.


DATE AND WORK HOURS
  • July 20, 2026 through August 2026. 
  • Monday to Friday, 9pm to 5am 

LOCATIONS
  • Intersection of Van Nuys Bl and Wyandotte St
  • Wyandotte St, west of Van Nuys Bl 

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Van Nuys Bl will remain open with lane reductions and left-turn restrictions. 

  • Temporary full closures of Wyandotte St will occur as needed. 

  • The road will be fully reopened to vehicular traffic daily outside of work hours. 

  • Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage.
