Project Website | Active Work Notices
The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY

Metro's contractor, San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC), will conduct utility installation work on Van Nuys Bl between Vesper Av and Arleta Av. Work will require various traffic control configurations, including lane reductions on Van Nuys Bl, with at least one lane of traffic remaining open in each direction for vehicular travel. Construction will also require temporary full closures of side streets, including Vesper Av, Canterbury Av, and Beachy Av. These side street closures will not occur simultaneously. Work will begin on the northbound side of Van Nuys Bl before shifting to the southbound side for each closure location.

Utility installation activities will include the installation of conduit, duct banks, vaults, and a new waterline. Construction activities will also include potholing, excavation, trenching, shoring, backfilling, and concrete and roadway paving.
