Century City Station – Monthly Look-Ahead: October 2026 

This monthly notification is an outline of construction activities in Century City for the month of October 2026.  
All work has received necessary permits and approvals or is pending approval. Dates are subject to change. Additional notices detailing these activities are sent by email through the D Line Extension, Section 2 database. To be added to the D Line stakeholder list for construction updates, please email us at metrodline@metro.net.  

• Work will continue behind k-rail enclosures to construct appendages along the future station within the current traffic closures.  
• Construction occurs within current traffic closures around the station area to accommodate this work and the contractor will implement additional traffic phasing to continue work on the remaining structures. 

• Construction of the interior and above roof structures will be ongoing underground beneath Constellation Bl. This work takes place 24 hours a day Monday through Saturday.  

• The contractor is continuing to conduct backfill operations for the future station above the final concrete structure in the month of October 2026. 
• The backfill operation will require daily intermittent nighttime closures coordinated with the concrete placement.  

• Ongoing construction continues within the sound walls at the staging yards located at 1940, 1950, 2010 and 2040 Century Park East.

• The contractor will be performing potholing work along Constellation. The work will require the closure of sidewalks at the intersection of Constellation Bl and Avenue of the Stars. Pedestrian detours and wayfinding signage will be in place at this intersection. 
• The contractor has implemented a sidewalk closure along the sidewalk of Constellation Bl from Avenue of the Stars up to the Westfield Mall ADA ramp to perform appendage construction.
• Access to driveways for The Westfield Mall and 1999 Avenue of the Stars will be maintained during work activity. 
• Pedestrian detour access will be maintained via the south side of Constellation Bl sidewalk, Avenue of the Stars crosswalk, and the Solar Way crosswalk.   
• Anticipated Completion date Oct 14, 2026  
• Daytime Work Hours: 6am-3pm 

• The Contractor will modify the steady state closure to construct the south side appendages. 
• A sidewalk closure will be implemented on the south side of Constellation Bl from the corner of Avenue of the Stars to Solar Way. 
• A sidewalk closure will be implemented on the west side of Avenue of the Stars, from the corner of Constellation Bl to the Fairmont Hotel Valet driveway. 
• Pedestrian access on the north side of Constellation will be temporarily restored. There will be a 2-lane reduction on southbound Avenue of the Stars starting at Constellation Bl. Pedestrian access from the Fairmont Hotel to Constellation Bl will be detoured south to Olympic Bl. 
• Anticipated Duration: October 15,2026 through January 15, 2027 
• ​​​​​​​Work Hours- Monday through Friday Day: 6am-4pm Night: 8pm-4am 

• The Contractor has started the waterline replacement on SB Avenue of the Stars, north and south of the Constellation Bl. Lane reductions have been implemented at night to provide a work area for construction. 
• SB AOS will be closed at Constellation Bl. U-turn to NB AOS will be maintained. Left- turns from WB Constellation to AOS will be closed. Right turns from EB Constellation will be closed. This work is anticipated to be completed by October 15, 2026.
