Century City Station – Monthly Look-Ahead: February 2026

This monthly notification is an outline of construction activities in Century City for the month of February 2026.
All work has received necessary permits and approvals or is pending approval. Dates are subject to change. Additional notices detailing these activities are sent by email through the Purple Line Extension, Section 2 database. To be added to the Purple (D) Line stakeholder list for construction updates, please email us at metrodline@metro.net.

Upcoming Deck Removal

  • The contractor plans to begin deck panel removal and street restoration along Constellation Bl from Century Park East to just west of Avenue of the Stars. This work will be completed in four sequential phases, each lasting 14 days, with traffic control implemented to progress linearly from east to west. Upon completion of deck removal, traffic control will be reestablished on Constellation Bl to support ongoing construction activities.
  • Phase one will begin on March 9th. Each following phase will start after the previous phase’s 14-day work period is complete.
  • Further traffic control information will be provided through construction notices and direct stakeholder outreach once the deck removal schedule and specific closure details are finalized.

Side Structure/Appendage Work Activity
  • Work will continue behind k-rail enclosures to construct appendages along the future station within the current traffic closures and will continue following the completion of the deck removal activities.
  • Construction occurs within current traffic closures around the station area to accommodate this work and the contractor will implement additional traffic phasing after deck removal to continue work on the remaining structures.
  • The contractor will be performing potholing activities for appendage piles, which will require temporary nighttime sidewalk closures and single-lane traffic operations with flagging in place for both westbound and eastbound traffic on Constellation Bl.

Station Construction and Concrete Placement Completion
  • Placement of structural concrete for the Constellation Station is complete.
  • Construction of the interior and above roof structures will be ongoing underground beneath Constellation Bl. This work takes place 24 hours a day Monday through Saturday.

Station Backfill Operations Progress
  • The contractor is continuing to conduct backfill operations for the future station above the final concrete structure in the month of January.
  • The backfill operation will require daily intermittent nighttime closures coordinated with the concrete placement.

Work within Construction Staging Yards (day work and weekend nights)
  • Ongoing construction continues within the sound walls at the staging yards located at 1940, 1950, 2010 and 2040 Century Park East.
