Wilshire/La Cienega Civil Restoration Phase 2

Summary 

Beginning October 5, and continuing through April 2025, a K-Rail workzone will be implemented on the north side of Wilshire Bl between San Vicente Bl and La Cienega Bl. A K-Rail workzone will be implemented along northbound La Cienega Bl. During this time Wilshire Bl will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between San Vicente Bl and La Cienega Bl. Northbound La Cienega Bl will be reduced to two lanes between Wilshire Bl to just north of Wilshire Bl. Additional traffic control information can be found below. This traffic control will support ongoing civil restoration work along Wilshire Bl. This includes the construction of new curb, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and tree wells.

  • Beginning October 5, 2024 continuing through April 2025. 

Where   

  • Wilshire Bl and La Cienega Bl. 

Traffic Control 

  • Wilshire Bl reduced to two lanes in each direction between San Vicente Bl and La Cienega Bl. Northbound La Cienega Bl reduced to two lanes between Wilshire Bl to just north of Wilshire Bl. 

    • Intermittent single-lane bumpouts may be utilized on Wilshire Bl and La Cienega Bl. This will reduce westbound Wilshire and/or northbound La Cienega to a single lane during off peak hours.
  • Hamilton Dr and Gale Dr may be intermittently closed at Wilshire Bl during the north side civil restoration. North and South Hamilton Dr will not be closed concurrently. North and South Gale Dr will not be closed concurrently. 

  • Left turns and through movements at Hamilton Dr and Wilshire Bl will be restricted in both directions. Right turn movements from northbound Hamilton Dr to eastbound Wilshire Bl will be maintained; right turn movements from southbound Hamilton Dr to westbound Wilshire Bl will be maintained. 

  • Left turns will be maintained at the Wilshire/La Cienega intersection. 

  • All turn movements in the Wilshire/La Cienega intersection are anticipated to remain open. Intermittent closures may be utilized depending on locations of planned work. 

  • A 5ft walkway will be maintained along the north side of Wilshire Bl. Intermittent closures to the full sidewalk may be utilized  

  • A signed pedestrian detour will be implemented during intermittent sidewalk closures.

Access
  • Access for Emergency Vehicles & First Responders will be maintained.

Metro Access
Metro bus stops may be relocated or lines could be impacted. For information changes to Metro service, please call 323.GoMetro. Passengers are encouraged to use the Transit App to plan their travels.
