Cross Passage Construction on Century Park West 

Summary 

Workers will begin construction of the underground cross passage between the twin tunnels beneath Century Park West in January 2026 and continue this work for up to six months. Work will take place on Century Park West, between Santa Monica Blvd and Constellation Blvd. Construction activities include drilling and concrete pouring.  

There will be lane reductions on both sides of Century Park West, between Santa Monica Blvd and Constellation Blvd will be required, along with a closure of the center meridian. Local driveways access will be maintained.   

Anticipated work hours include weekdays from 9 am to 3:30 pm and 9 pm to 6 am, as well as weekends from Fridays at 9 pm to Mondays at 6 am. 

Dates

  • January 2026 for approximately six months. 

Work Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3:30 pm and 9 pm to 6 am, Friday through Monday, 9 pm to 6 am. 

Traffic Control 

  • Lane closures of both northbound and southbound #1 lanes on Century Park West 
  • Closure of center meridian 
  • Through traffic and local driveway access maintained 

Noteworthy  

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals.  
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 
  • Access for emergency responders will be maintained.  
  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate work zone area.  
  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.

Unhoused Persons  

Metro Construction Relations staff will notify and coordinate with the appropriate Los Angeles City Council District when a person experiencing homelessness is identified on City property (e.g., streets and sidewalks) near a Metro construction site.
