Wilshire Bl near UCLA:  Sewer Line Work 

Summary 

Metro contractors will continue working on the  sewer line Factivities for the future Westwood/UCLA Station. Work will be done in phases with lane closures on Wilshire Bl between Veteran Av and Westwood Bl Utility services will be maintained. 

Work on the sewer and catch basins has been ongoing. The temporary traffic control will require restrictions to eastbound lanes on Wilshire Bl between Veteran Av and Westwood Bl. See the restrictions below.

Ongoing through April 2025 

Work hours:   

Monday to Friday, 9pm to 6am and 11pm to 6am

Traffic Control: 

Stage 1: 9pm to 6am, weeknights 

  • Westbound Wilshire Bl will have lane reductions for traffic between Glendon Av to Westwood Bl, including the dual turn pockets at Westwood Bl. 

  • The east leg crosswalk will be closed at the intersection of Wilshire Bl and Westwood Bl. However, three other crosswalks will be maintained for pedestrian access. 


Stage 2: 11pm to 6am, weeknights 

  • One lane for northbound and southbound Westwood Bl traffic between Ashton Av and Wilshire Bl will be restricted. 

  • Left turn pockets for northbound Westwood Bl traffic at Ashton Av and Wilshire Bl will be closed. 

  • The westbound Wilshire Bl left turn pocket at Westwood Bl will be closed. 

  • The south leg cross walk will be closed at Westwood Bl and Wilshire Bl.  However, three other crosswalks will be maintained for pedestrian access. 



Stage 3: 9pm to 6am, weeknights 

  •  Ashton Av center lane closure is needed between Westwood Bl and Midvale Av. 

  • A southbound Westwood Bl traffic lane between Wilshire and Ashton av will be closed. 

  • The east leg crosswalk at Midvale and Ashton Ave will be closed. The west leg crosswalk will be maintained at Westwood Bl and Ashton Bl. 


Noteworthy: 

  • All work will receive the necessary permits and approvals. 

  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 

  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained. 

  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone. 

  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
