Decommissioning of Geotechnical Instruments 

Summary 

The contractor will be implementing traffic lane and sidewalk closures to support the removal of geotechnical instruments across multiple locations along the project alignment. This phase of instrumentation removal will be conducted on weekdays between Spalding Dr and S Moreno Dr south of Wilshire Bl and S Santa Monica Bl (work locations below). Work may begin at Location 1 and proceed towards Location 8. Work may occur at more than one location during the work day. Following this work, the contractor will be paving over the instrument removal locations. More details will be provided in a future notice.

When 

  • Weekdays: Monday-Friday
  • No Metro work on Rosh Hashana (September 22 sundown to September 24 sundown) and Yom Kippur (October 1 sundown to October 2 sundown)
  • Anticipated Start Date: September 25th  
  • Anticipated Duration: Approximately 3 weeks

  • Work hours: 8AM – 6PM


Location/Traffic Control

  • Location 1: Spalding Dr between Charleville Bl and Wilshire Bl
    • East side of Spalding Dr closed from Wilshire Bl to midblock before Charleville Bl. One lane maintained in each direction.
  • Location 2: Spalding Dr between Charleville Bl and Wilshire Bl
    • West side of Spalding Dr closed from Wilshire Bl to midblock before Charleville Bl. One lane maintained in each direction.
    • Possible west side short duration sidewalk closure on Spalding Dr between Wilshire Bl to midblock before Charleville Bl.
  • Location 3: Charleville Bl between Lasky Dr and Spalding Dr
    • South side of Charleville Bl closed between Lasky Dr and Spalding Dr. One lane maintained in each direction.
  • Location 4: Lasky Dr between Robbins Dr and alley south of Robbins Dr
    • East side of Lasky Dr closed between Robbins Dr and alley south of Robbins Dr. One lane maintained in each direction.
  • Location 5: Lasky Dr between Young Dr and Robbins Dr
    • East side of Lasky Dr closed between Robbins Dr and Young Dr. One lane maintained in each direction.
  • Location 6: Lasky Dr between Young Dr and Charleville B
    • West side of Lasky Dr closed between Charleville Bl and Young Dr. One lane maintained in each direction.
    • Alley closed at Lasky Dr between Robbins Dr and Young Dr. Alley access maintained from S Moreno Dr.
  • Location 7: Young Dr between S Moreno Dr and Lasky D
    • West side of Young Dr closed between Lasky Dr and midblock before Moreno Dr.
    • One lane maintained in each direction.
  • Location 8: S Moreno Dr between Young Dr and Lasky D
    • Street will be reduced to one lane but flaggers will be on site to assist with two way through traffic.

Noteworthy: 

  • Please contact purpleline@beverlyhills.org if your “Daytime Street Parking” availability is impacted during this time.
  • All work has or will receive the necessary permits and approvals. 
  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will be maintained at all times unless notified in advance. 

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 

  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained 

  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone.
