LADWP Waterline Installation for New Westwood/VA Hospital Station

Summary 

Workers have substantially completed the waterline at the Westwood/VA Hospital Station for the station’s future water service. Remaining activities include traffic control set up, asphalt removal and replacement, saw cutting, setting water meters, and miscellaneous sidewalk replacement between Barry Av and San Vicente Bl/Federal Av on Wilshire Bl.  

Final waterline work is anticipated to be completed by the first week of November 2025, with finishing work continuing through the end of 2025. The team continues working from Monday through Sunday, from 9 pm to 6 am, although hours may vary. 

 

Traffic Control 

All driveways will be maintained unless previously notified. Street parking may be impacted. Please follow the posted traffic signage and street parking restrictions. Please refer to the detour signs for impacted routes and relocated bus stops. 

Temporary lane reductions will be required along Wilshire Bl between Barry Ave and Federal Ave/San Vicente Bl. 

Noteworthy 

  • All work has received necessary permits and approvals. 

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 

  • Access for emergency responders will be maintained. 

  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate work zone area. 

  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.

Unhoused Persons 

Metro Construction Relations staff will notify and coordinate with the appropriate Los Angeles City Council District when a person experiencing homelessness is identified on City property (e.g., streets and sidewalks) near a Metro construction site.
