N Canon Soundwall Removal & Street Restoration 

Summary 

Following the holiday moratorium, beginning Monday January 5th, the contractor will implement a full closure of the north sidewalk on Wilshire Bl with restricted access from N Crescent Dr to the AKA Alley to progress with sidewalk restoration work activity. Pedestrian detours will be implemented to direct pedestrians to use the crosswalks at S Canon Dr and Crescent Dr. Street and sidewalk restoration work activity will be ongoing and conducted in phases along both sides of Wilshire Bl. Access to the entrance of the AKA commercial property on Wilshire Bl, west of Crescent Dr will be maintained. The contractor will also begin the process of removing the N Canon Dr soundwall beginning January 12th, located on N Canon Dr north of Wilshire Bl and adjacent to the N Canon Dr staging yard, as well as the soundwall along the westerly side of the alley between N. Cresent Dr. and N. Canon Dr.  

When

  • Sidewalk restoration anticipated start date: January 5th 
  • Soundwall removal anticipated start date: January 12th 
  • Soundwall removal anticipated duration: Approximately 6 weeks
  • Daytime Work Hours: 7AM-4PM
Traffic Control
  • The Wilshire Bl north sidewalk from N Crescent Dr to N Canon Dr will be restricted during work activity.
  • Pedestrians will be directed to use detours which will be implemented at the crosswalks at S Canon Dr and Crescent Dr.
  • Wilshire Bl will be reduced to two lanes in each direction from Crescent Dr to Beverly Dr.
  • Access to the alley from Wilshire Bl between N Crescent Dr and N Canon Dr will be restricted during work activity. Access to the alley will be maintained from Clifton Way.
  • Access to the alley between N Canon Dr and N Beverly Dr will be maintained during work activity.
  • A portion of the south sidewalk from S Canon Dr to S Reeves Dr will be restricted.
  • A portion of the south sidewalk from S Beverly Dr to S Reeves Dr will be restricted.
  • Building and driveway access along Wilshire Bl will be maintained during work activity.
Noteworthy:
  • All work has or will receive the necessary permits and approvals.
  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will be maintained at all times unless notified in advance.
  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones.
  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone.
  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
