Van Nuys Bl between Arleta Av and Lev Av: Sewer Line Relocation

The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to Van Nuys Bl and San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY
Metro’s contractor, San Fernando Transit Constructors (SFTC), will conduct utility installation work on Van Nuys Bl between Arleta Av and Lev Av. Work will occur at night in the center of the street, with at least one lane of traffic maintained in each direction on Van Nuys Bl and left-turn restrictions in place. The work area will extend into the middle of the Arleta Av and Van Nuys Bl intersection, preventing vehicles traveling eastbound on Arleta Av from crossing Van Nuys Bl and requiring them to use a detour. Westbound Arleta Av will remain open.

Work activities will include the relocation of sewer line connections and will involve traffic control setup, potholing, excavation, trenching, shoring and backfill, and roadway restoration.
