The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line (Orange) Van Nuys Station to Van Nuys Bl and San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY
In support of the ESFV LRT Project, the Southern California Gas Company will relocate a gas line located along Van Nuys Bl, between Keswick St and Arminta St. This work activity will require lane reductions and work activities that may involve equipment in the roadway, street excavation and street restoration.
            
DATE AND WORK HOURS
Beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2024, through mid December 2024. (Mon-Fri) from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Weather permitting.

LOCATION
Van Nuys Bl between Keswick St and Arminta St.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Traffic delays due to lane reductions along Van Nuys Bl.
  • Van Nuys Bl will remain open with lane restrictions.
  • Certain left turn lanes will be closed during work activity, please follow the signage.
  • Work crews performing construction activities in the roadway including street excavation, gas line relocation, and street restoration
  • Parking is restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage.
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as necessary, please follow the signage.

NOTEWORTHY

  • The road will be fully reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours.
  • Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance.
  • Access to emergency responders will be maintained.
  • Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.
  • Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.
