SUMMARY
As part of the ongoing advanced utility work for the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project, Metro’s contractor, W.A. Rasic Construction Co., Inc., will perform work for a conduit installation. This conduit installation will require a directional eastbound & westbound closure along Vanowen St. The installation work activities will be performed on weeknights and are anticipated to last approximately 1 week. The ongoing utility work activities are scheduled to continue through late 2023.

The duration for the directional eastbound & westbound closures are expected to start mid October and continue for one week.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Weeknights eastbound & westbound directional closure along Vanowen St from 8:00pm to 6:00am.

Westbound traffic on Vanowen St will be detoured to northbound Hazeltine Av, to westbound Sherman Way, to southbound Kester Av.

Eastbound traffic on Vanowen St will be detoured to southbound Van Nuys Bl, to eastbound Victory Bl, to northbound Woodman Av.

Flaggers will be provided at various locations to direct traffic.

Equipment in the street, excavations, repaving of roadway, sidewalk repair.

Parking restricted in posted areas, please follow the signage.
NOTEWORTHY

Van Nuys Bl will remain open with lane restrictions in the northbound direction.

Access to private driveways, residences, and businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance.

Access to emergency responders will be maintained.

Construction is a dynamic process and work schedules and timelines are subject to change.

The eastbound & westbound bus stop at Van Nuys Bl and Vanowen St will be temporarily relocated during the work activity. Please look for directional signage.

Noise and dust control measures will be in place to minimize impacts.

The road will be reopened to vehicular traffic and parking daily after work hours.

The overall advanced utility relocation work activity will continue and is anticipated to be completed in late 2023.
