Video Detection Camera System Relocation- Intersection of Van Nuys Bl and Sherman Way

The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit (ESFV LRT) Project will improve connections and access to crucial destinations while connecting transit users to the growing network in the San Fernando Valley. The Southern Segment of the project includes a 6.7-mile at-grade alignment that will operate in the center of Van Nuys Bl, from the Metro G Line Van Nuys Station to Van Nuys Bl and San Fernando Rd.

SUMMARY

Metro’s contractor will relocate the video detection camera for the traffic signal at the Sherman Way and Van Nuys Bl intersection to assist with traffic flow of the area. The work will include implementing traffic control measures to facilitate the relocation of the video camera equipment; work trucks will be used to support the work activity. There will be various phases of traffic restrictions at the intersection of Sherman Way and Van Nuys Bl, including left-turn pocket restrictions and a closure of the south leg pedestrian crosswalk. Work will also include lane restrictions on northbound and southbound Van Nuys Bl between Gault St and Valerio St. It is anticipated that the work will take one week to complete.
