AKA Alley Closure Permanent Utility Installation                                                                           April 17, 2025

Summary 

Starting Monday, April 28, the contractor will fully close the AKA Alley (between N Canon Dr and Crescent Dr) to begin potholing and concrete breaking activities in preparation for permanent utility installation. Concrete breaking and steel plate installation will be complete Monday April 28th and following the concrete breaking work, non-concrete breaking utility installation and alley restoration will begin on Tuesday April 29th. 

When 

  • Closure start date: April 28, 2025 

  • Anticipated Duration: 2 weeks  

Work hours:  

  • Daytime: 9 AM- 4PM  

Traffic Control: 

  • Traffic will need to enter and exit the alleyway from Clifton Way. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic. 

  • Access to the AKA building will be maintained during work activity through Clifton Way. 

  • Access to the sidewalk west of Crescent Dr for the AKA building entrance will be maintained during work activity.  

  • A temporary noise barrier will be installed during work activity to help mitigate potential noise disruption. 

Noteworthy: 

  • All work has or will receive the necessary permits and approvals. 

  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 

  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained 

  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone. 

  • Construction is dynamic and schedules are subject to change.
