Wilshire Bl and Westwood Bl: Utility Relocation 

Summary 

Metro contractors will relocate a Verizon line at the intersection of Wilshire Bl and Westwood Bl to continue work at the UCLA Station. The work will require temporary traffic closures along Wilshire Boulevard and Westwood Boulevard. Please follow the traffic restriction signage. Map below show the most impactful restrictions. 

Date:  Ongoing through April 15, 2025 

Work hours: Monday to Friday, 9 pm to 6 am, and weekends, Friday to Monday, 9 pm to 6 am 

Traffic Control:  

  • Two eastbound lanes and left turn pockets will be closed to northbound traffic at the Westwood Bl and Wilshire Bl intersection. 

  • Two westbound lanes and the left turn pockets will be closed at the intersection of Westwood Bl and Wilshire Bl. Southbound Westwood Bl traffic will be restricted from before Kinross Av to Wilshire Bl.  The thru traffic will remain accessible, and right-hand turns.  Left turns will be limited.   

  • Lane reductions will be anticipated on Wilshire Bl from Glendon Av to Gayley Av. 


Noteworthy: 

  • All work will receive the necessary permits and approvals. 

  • Access to driveways, residences & businesses will always be maintained unless notified in advance. 

  • Access for pedestrians will be maintained outside of construction zones. 

  • Access for the Fire Department and emergency responders will be maintained. 

  • Parking restrictions will be implemented in the immediate area of the work zone. 

  • Construction is dynamic, and schedules are subject to change.
