Public Safety Advisory Committee Recruitment Opens

Metro has officially opened the application period for vacancies on the Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC). The advisory body plays a critical role in evaluating and recommending holistic, equitable strategies to modernize security operations and improve the rider experience across the transit network. Metro is actively seeking diverse regional perspectives to fill these seats, including youth, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and community advocates specializing in social services, mental health, or racial justice. August 10, 11, 13, and 15: Vermont Transit Corridor Meetings

The Vermont Transit Corridor Project is officially advancing into the construction phase. Serving more than 38,000 passengers daily, Vermont Avenue represents Metro's most heavily utilized bus corridor. This initiative aims to deliver faster, safer, and more reliable Bus Rapid Transit service by 2028. Metro is hosting a series of community meetings this August to discuss project updates, review construction schedules, and gather stakeholder feedback. Sessions will be conducted both in-person and online on August 10, 11, 13, and 15. Work Notice: Constellation Bl: Eastbound Closures

To strengthen the future transit network, Metro is carefully placing deep structural support beams—known as pile installation—along Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars through August 20. To keep daytime travel smooth, this essential work takes place overnight from 9 PM to 5 AM. Metro deeply appreciates community patience as gentle nighttime lane adjustments and detours are introduced.
